The Compliance Team

How it works

Two documents go in. Every question is judged the way an auditor reads it — against intent, not keywords — and substantiated with the exact manual reference. Two documents come out.

Audit standard
Your manuals
Deepsky
Completed audit checklist
Action plans

Gaps surfaced early

Where nothing in your manuals answers a question, we flag it before the auditor does.

Audit-ready output

A completed audit checklist plus corrective action plans for every gap, in the format audit bodies expect.

Stays current

Change a procedure or adopt a new standard and the mapping re-runs. Audit-ready continuously, not just the week before.

About Deepsky

Who we are

deepsky was founded to fix one of aviation's most expensive chores: audit preparation. Cross-referencing an operations manual against an audit standard, clause by clause, takes weeks of specialist time — and a single missed criterion can hold up an approval.

We built The Compliance Team to do that work automatically: it reads the standard and your exposition, maps every audit question to the procedure or evidence that satisfies it, and flags the gaps before an auditor finds them. The result is an auditable, traceable compliance matrix that keeps you audit-ready continuously — not just the week before an audit.

Deepsky brings together airline captaincy, flight operations management, software and AI engineering, and product management — with hands-on familiarity with the audit standards that govern flight ops. The regulation and the engineering sit under one roof, which is why the product answers the way an auditor thinks, not the way a database does.

Through the deepsky Podcast and our newsletter, we stay close to how aviation leaders worldwide are putting AI to work — and we turn that into a product that makes audit preparation faster, cheaper, and more reliable.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is deepsky?

deepsky automates audit preparation for aviation operators. Our product, The Compliance Team, maps the audit standards and regulations you have to meet against your own operations manual — so you walk into an audit with the evidence already assembled.

What is The Compliance Team?

It's audit preparation you don't have to hire for. You give us the audit standard you're being assessed against plus your manuals (exposition, SOPs, policies); deepsky produces a completed audit checklist and corrective action plans — every question mapped to the procedure or evidence that satisfies it, auditable, traceable, and ready for the auditor.

How does it work?

Deepsky reads the standard and your manuals, then links it to the exact sections that answer it, with citations you can open. Where nothing in your documentation answers a question, it flags the gap and explains what is missing. The output is a completed audit checklist plus corrective action plans, formatted the way audit bodies expect.

Which audit standards do you support?

We focus on the standards that cover flight operations — BARS, IOSA, IS-BAO, ARGUS, CASR Part 133/135, DASR — as well as the underlying ICAO, FAA, EASA and CASA regulations. The system is built to take any audit standard or regulation you provide, so it is not limited to a fixed list.

Does this replace our compliance or safety manager?

No — it greatly expands the speed and scope at which they can work. The weeks of manual cross-referencing disappear, and because every mapping is cited and traceable, your compliance manager reviews and signs off on real evidence rather than assembling it by hand.

How do you handle our documents and confidentiality?

Your documents stay yours. Every engagement is strictly isolated to your organisation, your data is never used to train models, and the portal is invite-only with enterprise-grade security throughout. And non disclosure agreements are executed prior to sharing of any information.

How much time does it save?

Checking manuals against a standard is roughly four days of skilled work per audit, per standard — usually done by a senior person pulled off flying or off running the operation. Early trials indicate an ~85% time saving on the compliance review itself: from four days down to about half a day. And because the assessment runs off one ingestion of your manuals, it can assess several schemes (IS-BAO, IOSA, BARS, CASA) simultaneously, saving even more time.

Who is behind deepsky?

deepsky was founded by Samuel Chandra, an airline captain and software engineer. It brings together airline captaincy, flight operations management, software and AI engineering, and product management — with hands-on familiarity with the audit standards that govern flight ops. The regulation and the engineering sit under one roof, which is why the product answers the way an auditor thinks.

Open standards throughout: llms.txt, OpenAPI, JSON-LD, and content-negotiated Markdown.

Compliance Requirement Lookup

Query audit standards and regulations in natural language and retrieve the specific requirements that apply. Connects AI agents to Deepsky's hybrid search across ICAO, FAA, EASA, and CASA source documents.

Aviation Document Search

Search publicly available regulations, standards and guidance with a single open API call — no key required. Backs lookups and evidence checks with citations agents can verify.

Regulatory Navigation

Navigate publicly available flight-ops standards and regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions. Enables AI agents to cross-reference audit standards against ICAO annexes and national rules.

LLM-Ready Aviation Data

Structured, machine-readable aviation data optimised for large language models. Includes llms.txt and llms-full.txt files following the open standard for AI-friendly content delivery.

Following the llms.txt open standard, Deepsky provides machine-readable documentation optimised for AI systems to understand our products, capabilities, and aviation domain expertise.
