*Hi its Sam Chandra - CEO/Founder of Deepsky and the author of this newsletter. Here’s my take on todays news - which represents the last 48 hours of AI in Aviation happenings around the world: *

*The Flighty use of NOTAMs and weather is definitely something I’ve tried as a side project, but never had enough time to see it through. IAG asking for disruption management is no surprise - it pretty much is (and has been for a while) the grand prize of problems to solve for airlines. And the much higher accident rates when automation hands back to drivers in Teslas is a bit of a warning sign. We think about this exhaustively in aviation, and it seems like Tesla is playing catch up. (Not to mention the car probably hands back to the driver in a highly dynamic manoeuvre that is close to impossible to recover from…)*

Flighty’s latest update brings pilot-grade data — METARs, TAFs, and NOTAMs — to everyday travelers, using AI to translate raw aviation advisories into plain-language disruption alerts and delay forecasts across 14,000 airports worldwide.

##### [Collins Aerospace Unveils AutoTrac — A Unified AI-Ready ATC Platform](https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/air-transport/2026-03-24/collins-showcases-vision-common-atc-platform)

RTX’s Collins Aerospace pitched AutoTrac as the answer to the FAA’s $31.5 billion ATC overhaul, consolidating fragmented en-route, terminal, and surface systems into a single platform that deployed new capabilities in three months during international trials — versus the multi-year cycles of legacy systems.

##### [IAG Targets AI for Disruption Management in 10th Accelerator Round](https://aviationweek.com/aerospace/emerging-technologies/ai-high-wishlist-next-round-iags-innovation-accelerator)

International Airlines Group opened its 10th IAGi innovation accelerator with AI-driven disruption management and scheduling optimization topping the wishlist — a signal that Europe’s largest airline group sees AI flight-ops tools as a near-term deployment priority, not a research project.

##### [Apple Distills Gemini Into On-Device Models That Run Without Internet](https://appleinsider.com/articles/26/03/25/apple-is-distilling-google-gemini-into-smaller-chunks-for-on-iphone-ai-processing)

Apple now has full access to Google’s Gemini in its own data centers and is using distillation to create smaller, cheaper models that run entirely on-device without cloud connectivity — a technique that could bring capable AI to iPad-based EFBs and cockpit tablets where connectivity is intermittent or unavailable.

##### [Big AI Headlines: Tesla FSD Robotaxis Crash 4x More Than Human Drivers](https://futurism.com/advanced-transport/tesla-robotaxis-crashing-more-human-drivers)

Tesla’s Austin robotaxi fleet has logged 14 crashes in 800,000 miles — one every 57,000 miles versus one every 229,000 for human Tesla drivers — even with safety monitors present.
